True Autumn color palette at a glance
The True Autumn color palette is the classic autumn look: forest, harvest and spice. In the Closie app it lists camel, rust, olive, mustard, terracotta, bottle green, cream and brick for near the face, plus chocolate, khaki, mocha and beige further away. Every color has a golden base.
Warm Autumn vs True Autumn: same season
The Closie app calls this season Warm Autumn; many analysts call it True Autumn. Both names mean the same thing: warmth is your defining trait, more important than depth or brightness.
White, black and grey for a True Autumn
- White: cream and warm ivory. Pure white looks cold against your skin.
- Black: chocolate brown is your “black”. Use real black only in shoes or bags.
- Grey: warm taupe or olive-grey at most; skip cool, blue greys.
- Navy: a warm, slightly teal navy is possible lower down; it is not your strongest color.
How to wear colors outside your palette
Keep cool colors away from your face and add warmth at the neckline: a grey coat with a mustard scarf, a black dress with a gold necklace and a camel cardigan, a navy skirt with a rust sweater. Gold jewelry alone already pulls an outfit warmer.
Hair color for True Autumn
Copper, auburn, golden brown, chestnut and warm caramel highlights all suit you. Ash toners and blue-black dye fight your natural warmth. If you go darker, choose a warm chocolate rather than a cool brown.
Fabrics and patterns
Rich, natural textures look best: tweed, suede, corduroy, chunky knits, leather, linen. Patterns can be earthy and warm — paisley, plaid in rust and olive, leopard in golden browns, botanical prints.
Am I a True Autumn? Four quick checks
- Gold jewelry is clearly better than silver on you.
- Your hair has natural red, copper or golden tones.
- Rust and olive make your eyes look brighter.
- Grey and black make you look flat or sallow.
In the logic behind the free color analysis quiz, a warm undertone with medium depth and medium contrast leads to True Autumn with red or chestnut hair, or with light brown hair and hazel or brown eyes. Golden blonde with the same warmth — or light brown hair with blue, green or grey eyes — lands in Warm Spring.
Five color pairings that work
- Camel + cream + rust — the signature autumn outfit.
- Olive + mustard — warm and confident.
- Bottle green + brick — rich evening combination.
- Terracotta + khaki + chocolate — earthy layers.
- Cream + chocolate — a softer, minimalist option.
Common mistakes
- Choosing black as the main office color.
- Wearing icy pastels or fuchsia near the face.
- Cool, ashy hair color that cancels your warmth.
- Silver-only jewelry wardrobes.

How to check if you are a True Autumn at home
You don’t need professional drapes for a first check. Stand facing a window in daylight, without makeup, hair pulled back, wearing something neutral. Hold each pair of fabrics (tops, scarves, towels) under your chin one after the other and look at your skin, not at the fabric: are shadows softer, is the skin more even, do your eyes look clearer?
- Rust vs raspberry: rust should look rich; raspberry may look cold.
- Cream vs snow white: cream should look natural; white may look stark.
- Gold vs silver: gold should look clearly better.
If your answers keep pointing the same way, you have a strong hint. If they are mixed, take the free color analysis quiz — it combines your hair, eye and skin answers with three undertone tests, the same way the Closie app does.
